Chic-fil-a Controversy Against Gay Marriage?

In my opinion, I will not lie to you, I am infuriated about this. It's not his place to say whether same sexes cannot get married. As it is proven, I highly support support gays becuase they are still people. I have interviewed people about the controversy from both sides. Here's what interviewee #1 had to say. "My opinion on gay marriageis that it's religiously wrong. However, as beings, we were born with free will and in a free country. If a gay couple chooses to burn in the lake of fire in passion with said his/her partner, then that's their business." I cannot believe he is siding with Dan Cathy, Chic-fil-a Pres. & C.O.O and man who started this entire controversy. Being able to see pass people who are prejudice against gays ignorance, I interviewed another person who had something to say about same sex marriage. "I support gay marriage because they have just as much of a right to get married without being judged  by ANYONE." After watching the video, even though I made my opinon well before watching it, my personal opinon is descriminating against gay marriage bullying, and I will not stand for it. I make friends with anyone regaurdless of sexual orientation. How do people sleep at night knowing your hurting someone? It's just not logical and ignorant, becuase anti-gays refuse to look at the other side from a gay's view.

  1. Hold up! Wait a minute! Let me put some TRUTH in it! First of all, let's get this in order, the company Chic-fil-a did not do a thing, the President of the company, Dan Cathy, said something on how he felt about it. Why are people attacking the company, when OBVIOUSLY it was a single person who works for the company? Cast your stones at the man and not the company. Gay marriage is dirty, filthy, and a death defying act against God. How is it bullying? He just made a statement on how he felt. When will America get it through their stupid heads that a statement is a statement, what has been said was said and they can’t change it and they do not have to react to everything like it is going to make a difference! And please tell me that you did not just say that it is not his place to say whether gays cannot get married. The man has every bit of right to say whatever he pleases. Oh God I wish I could cuss right now! If he does not have any right to speak against gay marriage, then you ma’am DO NOT have the right to speak against this subject!

  2. It's pathetic becuz he's brought RELIGION into it. He didn't have ANY business saying that mess on camera just hurt others!! He's a disgrace to anti-discrimination EVERYWHERE!! Even some of the workers are homosexual? So what? Is he going to fire them too?! Just becuase they're gay. He's not a real man and he shouldn't be the head of ANYTHING if he can't get his priorities STRAIGHT! It's pathetic. I guarentee you he WON'T be getting ANY business the majority of Chicago and most definitely ME! He's a SORRY excuse for a man if he's hiding behind religion as an excuse to not like gays. He's ignorant of the world around him.

    1. First of all, "becuz" is not at word. Can you explain to me, like a true AP student, how bringing religion into a situation is pathetic? If you were raised in religion like he and I was then maybe you would understand. Last, if anyone sounds ignorant it is you and your counter argument is awful. You're coming off emotion; you have no facts to back it up. So, you replying was a waste of time.

  4. You two....I tell you, if I can get you all to hold in your anger and not call names and turn that anger into PROFOUND, VOCABULARY RICH statements, I swear we would be in business!

About the statements- I agree with Michael that the question of perspective is in play here. Should the outrage be at the company he owns because he doesn't personally believe in gay marriage?? Or are gays trying to suffocate his personal right to say what he doesn't agree with?? Very complex situation. It would be different to ME if the owner had said, "No gays can eat in my restaurant". However, he was asked during an interview his thoughts, and he expressed his thoughts, subtely.

People are making this a gay bash situation, but I truly do not think that is the case here. I am all for gay marriage, but the outrage has been misguided in my opinion.

    2. Wow. This conversation was very interesting, but I agree with Shalissa because if someone cares or loves someone enough to marry them, same sex or not, than that is their choice. You shouldn't try to make someone feel bad about what they feel is right, and an opinion like his should have been kept more to himself then voicing it to the public.
